Our dedicated playgroup for multiple birth families is back weekly during Term 1. Join us for a coffee, chat and light refreshments....and most importantly some play. We will have a weekly theme to keep things fresh & exciting - Week 2 is "Teddy Bears Picnic" - this will be beary exciting & we can't wait to see all your favourite stuffed animals make the journey for our morning of play.  Children 0-5 welcome - multiples and their siblings. We will have a baby area, as well as some arts & crafts for our movers.  These playgroups are a GREAT way to get to know other new parents of multiples in your area, and build a support network and lifelong friendships. What to bring:  - Snacks for your children (nut free) - Hat for our outdoor play area Members: FREE Non-Members: $5 per family If registering a grandparent of carer, please use "extra adult" for their registration.  Note:  NSSMBA Members will only need to register for one session during the term. After this you will be added to the playgroup WhatsApp for future weeks attendances.

We will cover topics such as.... Expectant Parents: planning for the arrival of your multiples, your hospital stay, coming home and the early days with your multiples what equipment you will (and won't) need, getting help and support, breast and bottle feeding routines,  getting out and about with your multiples. CALLING ALL BURGER LOVERS: For the month of November North Shore Sydney Multiple Birth Association is hoping all burger lovers will succumb to their burger cravings at Grill’d Macquarie Centre. Why? Well, if you head into this store in between October 1 and October 31 you can satisfy your burger cravings AND support the NSSMBA Multiple Birth Families at the same time. There are three charity jars each month at the store as part of the Local Matters initiative, and this month we are lucky to have one of them. How does Local Matters Work? The Local Matters initiative was devised so that Grill’d could give back to the local community. The concept is simple. When you order a burger, you will receive one token to vote with. You can then place your vote for the charity or cause of your choice by putting the token inside the corresponding jar. At the end of the month, the jar or cause with the most tokens will receive $300. The other two will receive $100 each.

It's almost Halloween and NSSMBA is hosting an online costume competition! Here's your chance to dress up your family and multiples in the creepiest and kookiest costumes and win some prizes. This year Halloween is on Thursday October 31. All you have to do is post your photos in this event thread (on the NSSMBA - Members Only Facebook group) or email us by November 3rd to be in the running. You can enter as a whole family or just enter your little ones dressed in their scariest and cutest garb. Prizes will be issued for 1st, 2nd & 3rd places - get planning! 

With approximately 60% of Twins, 90% of Triplets and 100% of Higher Order Multiples being born prior to 37 weeks our community of multiples often have time in either Special Care or Neonatal Intensive Care Units.  Join us on Saturday 19th October to celebrate all the wonderful premature babies in our community and support the Life's Little Treasures Foundation Walk 4 Prems.  Life's Little Treasures Foundation is one of Australia's leading charities dedicated to providing practical support, information and assistance to families of babies born prematurely or sick. Their services are available in hospital (neonatal & special care units) and in the community when families come home.  We will meet at Lamberts Clearing at the Ku-ring-gai Wildflower Gardens before the Walk4Prems commences and afterwards for light refreshments. The walk is pram friendly and Lamberts Clearing has a great little playground as well as a large, grassed area to spread out a picnic rug or to play.
